“ROYAL RANGERS”
Royal Rangers is a dynamic and exciting way
to reach out to boys and teach them valuable lessons and keep
them fully engaged with life. It is geared toward boys from
kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Our mission has not
changed since Johnnie Barnes founded Royal Rangers in 1962.
Our ministry is still fresh and relevant to today’s
young men. What the program has to offer is more important
than ever before. Come check us out and see what is going
on! Come be a part of Outpost #294!
“RANGER KIDS”
(Kindergarten through Second Grade)
This program is foundational in providing this
impressionable group with the background and training for
solid mental, physical, social and spiritual growth into manhood.
The Ranger Kids challenging and fun advancement system encourages
boys to learn and grow using indoor and outdoor activities
and games. The weekly lessons and objectives help to reinforce
Godly principles in their daily lives. In this age group the
boys have an opportunity to achieve advancements that can
be worn on an awards vest each week as part of their official
Royal Ranger uniform.
DISCOVERY RANGERS
(Third through Fifth Grade)
The Discovery Rangers program introduces an
exciting advancement system. In this system boys will learn
through both camping and non-camping activities. The merit-based
curriculum emphasizes learning about God and the church, the
family, science and nature, health, hobbies and so much more.
Strong relationships and team work are built through the patrol
system. Advancements and merits are proudly displayed on an
awards vest as part of the uniform.
ADVENTURE RANGERS
(Sixth through Eighth Grade)
Adventure Rangers participate in more challenging
camping and outdoor activities. They work on skill development
in advanced camping, Junior Leadership Training, Frontiersman
Camping Fellowship (FCF), working toward the Bronze, Silver
and Gold medals with national recognition. The weekly planning
guides will encourage the boys to learn and stay on course
for the highest award a boy can earn—the Gold Medal
of Achievement. Advancements and merits are proudly displayed
on an awards vest as part of the uniform.
EXPEDITION RANGERS
(Ninth through Twelfth Grade)
This is an action-packed adventure trail. The
Expedition Ranger is challenged by advanced camping and camp
craft skill opportunities. These extreme activities offer
boys, in this age group, opportunities to develop confidence
to become more self-reliant and gain greater appreciation
of God. Several advancement tracks are available including
Air, Sea, Trail, Chaplain, High Action Rangers and more. Boys
will be challenged to service through Home and Foreign Missions,
Youth and Men’s Ministry. Advancements and merits are
proudly displayed on an awards vest as part of the uniform.
In addition, boys can choose to reach for the nationally recognized
ultimate achievement award, in the Royal Rangers, the Gold
Medal of Achievement.
